MATHEWS – Kayaker Marcy Benouameur fears that too many people miss out on the value of experiencing the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries first hand. "The Chesapeake Bay is a treasure and a lot of people do not have the means of getting to see the bay or even to get near it," Benouameur said. "There's so few places [to access the water] that aren't privately owned," added Janice Moore.
